Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 3:00pm through 5:30pm. There were 34 children in care with four staff. Children present ranged in age from three to 12 years old. Children were observed in teacher and self-directed activities including outside play, transitions, hand washing and playing in the gym. Required postings, first aid kit, injury reports and emergency items were reviewed. There was one violations identified during the inspection regarding background checks.
Based on observation and interview the center failed to ensure that each staff submits to fingerprinting. Evidence: 1 - The record for staff 2 does not contain a fingerprint background check. Staff 2 has a documented date of hire as August 12, 2019. 2 - Staff 1 confirmed that there was not a fingerprint background check on file for staff 2.
Plan of Correction:
Center management will request a fingerprint background check as soon as possible. The background was obtained and a copy provided to the inspector on October 28, 2019/
