An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection was conducted on September 12, 2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date (see separate report for details). Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in the licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. There were 84 children present ranging in age from 3 years to 12 years. All staff have documentation of the mandatory VA Pre-service Training and are currently certified in first aid and CPR. Any children with a diagnosed food allergy must have an Allergy Action Plan completed by the child's physician. Evacuation drills have been conducted monthly, the last shelter in place drill was conducted 7/11/2019, and the last lockdown drill was conducted 8/28/2019. Lockdown drills are to isolate children and staff from a security threat; shelter in place is to protect children from a natural or manmade threat. Time of today's inspection: 2:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact me at tara.barton@dss.virginia.gov or 804-662-9766.
