Comments:
An unannounced monitoring was conducted today 8/15/2019. The inspection began at 9:00 am and concluded at 1:45 pm. There were 47 children in care with eight direct care staff and the owner was also present. During the time of the inspection all of the classrooms were observed, infant care was observed, lunch time was observed, five out of 47 children's records, six staff's records, and policies and procedures were reviewed.
Based on observation of the infant room, the center failed to ensure that all hazardous substances such as cleaning materials were kept in a locked place.
Evidence:
1. Observed under the diaper changing area the cabinet doors were not locked and there was spray bottle of a cleaning chemical. The lock was hanging by one of the handles.
Plan of Correction:
The owner will remind staff to use the lock on the cabinet.

Description:
Based on observation of the infant room, the center failed to ensure that all infant's hands were washed prior to and after eating.
Evidence:
1. Observed one infant finishing a bottle and was placed on the floor to play. The infant's hands were not washed with soap and water or a disposable wipe after finishing the bottle.
2. Observed one infant start a bottle and the infant's hands were not washed with soap and water or a disposable wipe before starting the bottle.
Plan of Correction:
The owner remind and review all hand washing procedures with staff.

Description:
Based on observation of the infant room, the center failed to ensure that when high chairs, infant carries and or feeding tables are used that the safety straps are fastened.
Evidence:
1. Observed infant # 6 in an infant bouncer seat and the safety straps were not fastened.
Plan of Correction:
The owner will remind staff to use the safety straps at all times.
