An on-site subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was initiated on (June 13, 2022 and concluded on June 16, 2022. There were 25 children present with two staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on review of two staff records, the center did not ensure one staff completed Virginia preservice training within the first 90 days of employment.
Evidence:
The record of staff #1, hired 10/25/2021, contained documentation of the Virginia preservice training dated 04/26/2022 exceeding 90 days from employment.
Plan of Correction:
Per the administrator: Going forward we will ensure staff complete the Virginia preservice training within 90 days of employment.
