Technical Assistance:
If the fireplace is made inoperable through permanently sealing it, not just by placement of furniture or temporarily blocking it, the fireplace does not need to be inspected. An annual inspection means once every 12 months.
Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A renewal inspection was initiated on 4/9/21 and concluded on 4/16/21. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There was 1 child and 1 provider present.
The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children's records were reviewed in order to ensure documentation was complete. Please submit an up to date inspection of your fireplace by 5/31/21.
The information gathered during the inspection determined one violation with applicable standards or law.
Based on a review of the most recent documentation of the inspection of the wood burning fireplace and chimney, it was determined that it has not been inspected annually ( once every 12 months). Evidence: The wood burning fireplace and chimney was last inspected on 10/29/18.
Plan of Correction:
I will either get a new inspection or I will make it inoperable through permanently sealing it off.
