Comments:
A monitoring inspection was conducted on June 26, 2024. The licensing inspector was onsite from approximately 4:10 pm until 5:45 pm. The director was in attendance during the inspection. There were 19 children present, ranging in ages from four months to four years, with six staff supervising. Children were observed having snack and later playing in centers that consisted of magnetic blocks, coloring, legos, blowing bubbles, and counting cubes. Infants and toddlers had playtime on the floor and time in the swings.
The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, and medication. A total of four children's records and four staff members? records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-570-A
Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure when a child is placed in an infant seat
or high chair, the protective belt is fastened securely.

Evidence:
Child #3, 18 months in age, was observed sitting in the highchair having snack. The protective belt was not fastened.

Plan of Correction: The staff buckled the safety strap as soon as the inspector pointed it out. Going forward, Staff will ensure the safety strap is secured.
