Comments:
An Unannounced Monitoring Inspection was conducted on 07/19/2019 from 11:50am to 12:50pm. There were 3 children (8 points) directly supervised by 1 caregiver. The home, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Caregiver, children's and household members records were current from previous inspection visit. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed playing freely inside the play room. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Keesha Minor: (keesha.minor@dss.virginia.gov) (540)-340-2672.
Based on review, the provider failed to ensure that they practiced monthly emergency evacuation procedures.
Evidence: Reviewed the emergency evacuation practice log and found that there was no documentation of a drill being practiced in June.
Plan of Correction:
Will document the drill by the end of the day.
