Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:48am-10:35am with the provider on site. There were 12 children with 2 caregivers. A sample of 2 children's files and 2 caregivers/household member's files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: diaper changes, handwashing, toy play and preparing for an art project. Interactions between the children and caregivers were positive. The site was clean, organized and contained an abundant supply of developmentally appropriate materials. The physical space, attendance records, first aid kit, drill record and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed. There were no medications on site. Based on interview, the provider did not have the wood burning fireplaces and associated chimneys inspected annually by a knowledgeable inspector. Evidence: 1. The provider stated she had not had the fireplace or chimney inspected.
Plan of Correction:
Chimneys will be covered as soon as we can.
