Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted today from 9:45am through 2:25pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. A total of 95 children were present with 15 caregivers and all classrooms were in ratio. The children were engaged in the following: coloring, learning to count, listening to a story, playing inside in the Boulevard and going down the slide, playing on the playground, and infant care including feeding and diapering was also observed. Programming, menus, emergency procedures, 4 medications and authorizations, allergy action plans, and 10 children?s records and 5 staff records were reviewed.
A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. Please contact me at morgan.bryson1@dss.virginia.gov with any questions.
Based on review of 5 staff records, not all staff who work directly with children have current CPR and first aid training.
Evidence: 1. Staff #2 (Date of Hire: 7/8/19) did not have documentation of current CPR and first aid training.
Plan of Correction:
I gave this staff until 11/7/19 to complete her CPR/first aid training.
