Licensing Inspector arrived at 10:00 and departed at 11:30 AM to conduct a religiously exempt code compliance inspection in conjunction with a subsidy health and safety inspection. At the time of the inspection there were 19 children (ages infant through preschool) in care with four staff. Children were observed watching educational movies, participating in large motor activities and eating lunch.
Based on a review of six staff records, it was determined that the facility did not ensure that within 30 days of employment a completed search of the central registry (CPS check) was on file.
Evidence: The records for staff #1 (date of employment 8/19) and staff #2 (date of employment 5/19) did not contain the results of a search of the central registry.
Plan of Correction:
Center management will ensure that checks are completed and results placed in the record.

Description:
Based on a review of six staff records, it was determined that the facility did not ensure that all staff completed fingerprinting as required.
Evidence: 1. Staff #5 was observed on duty with the children during the inspection but did not have fingerprints on file. Center management stated that staff #5 had been employed "about two weeks." 2. Staff #1 had fingerprints on file dated 11/6/19. Staff #1 stated that she had begun work in August
Plan of Correction:
Center management will ensure that checks are completed and results placed in the record. Management will ensure that all persons will obtain fingerprints prior to employment.
