Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, and a virtual tour of the program. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 12/21/2021 and concluded on 12/21/2021. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 17 children present, ranging in ages from 7 months to 12 years, with 2 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 0 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on observation and staff interview, the facility failed to maintain the required staff to children ratio applicable to the youngest child in the group. Evidence: on 12/21/2021, Staff A was alone with eight children ranging in age from 7 months to 2 years old. Children ages birth through 16 months require 1 staff person for every four children. Staff C stated she had to assist with the video inspection and could not be in the room to maintain ratio.
Plan of Correction:
Ratios shall be maintained at all times.
