Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on and concluded on June 17, 2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were zero children present and one staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records and one staff record submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.
Based on documentation review and interview, the provider does not meet all the criteria on the health and safety checklist at the time of the inspection. Evidence: 1. The provider submitted a record of documented emergency drills. The first documented fire drill for 2020 was documented as occurring on March 9, 2020. 2. The provider stated there were children in care during the months of January and February 2020 but a fire drill was not completed because of the age of the infant in care.
Plan of Correction:
I now have a stroller and an infant carrier to help with the fire drills.
