The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced complaint inspection on 08/27/19 in response to a complaint that was received in the licensing office on 12/23/19 regarding allegations in the area of supervision. Interviews were conducted with staff , records were reviewed and observations of the program were made relating to the allegation. The information gathered during the investigation supports the allegation. A violation was cited in relation to the complaint.
Based on interviews, a record review and observations of the program, the center did not ensure the care, protection and guidance when supervising children. Evidence: On 08/19/19 on or around 9:45am, Staff #1 fed a 2 month-old child #1 another child's bottle containing breast milk (child #2). Both bottles were identical, however both were labeled correctly with each child's name.
Plan of Correction:
The following corrective action was provided by the director during the exit interview: Following the incident, the labeling system for bottles were changed, pictures of the babies were added to their individual bins and label names were made bigger. A check was also put into place when bottles are taken from the been before feeding an infant.
