Technical Assistance:
Discussed annually to update injury prevention plan, emergency preparedness plan and children files. Shelter place drills need to be completed twice a year. Annual training needs to be completed yearly.
Comments:
Licensing inspector arrived at 11:30 am and departed at 2:00pm to conduct a licensing inspection and a Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection. At the time of the tour there were 27 children with 5 staff members. An additional staff person were on site for administrative and support purposes. Children were observed preparing for nap, tummy time, freely playing and watching a movie. Sample size five staff records and five children's records.
Based on observation, the licensee did not ensure areas and equipment of the center, outside, were maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.
Evidence:
On the playground , there were three chairs with cracks and sharp edges on the leg, a broken cone, and sand sifter with sharp edges.
Plan of Correction:
The equipment was removed during the inspection.
