Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance was provided regarding background checks and cleaning and sanitizing background checks.
Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:30am-12:30pm. There were 40 children directly supervised by 10 staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, completing puzzles, completing a fine motor activity, reading books and walking outside. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was a supply of materials for the children. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Based on record review, the center did not ensure all staff completed a fingerprinted based criminal history record check.
Evidence: Staff 1 does not have results from a fingerprint based criminal history record check. (Staff 1, DOH 9/3/190
Plan of Correction:
The staff member has gone to the fingerprinting appointment. We have followed up and were told we should have the results in about a week.
