Technical Assistance:
Provided consultation on the following: 8VAC20-780-540 C The first aid kit should include a first aid instruction manual. 8VAC20-780-540E1 and E2 The center should have a battery operated radio and a battery operated flashlight.
Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 11/27/2023 from 12:05pm to 1:05pm. There were 13 children ages 2 years old to age 5 years old supervised by 2 staff. The physical plant, programming, attendance, menus, 2 staff records, 3 children?s records, emergency drills, supplies, and policies were reviewed. There were no medications onsite. The playground was not inspected due to the weather. Children were observed participating in lunch. Handwashing procedures were also observed. There was an adequate number of staff present with current certification in Medication Administration Training (MAT), CPR and First Aid, and Daily Health Observation (DHO) training. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Based on review of documentation and interview with the staff, the center did not maintain a current and dated written list of children?s allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions that was accessible to all staff in each group or area where children are present.
Evidence: In the Snapdragons classroom (ages 2-5 years) , there was no written dated list of children?s allergies, sensitivities and dietary restrictions accessible for the staff.
