Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection from 10:40 am - 11:40 am. There were thirteen children in care for a total of 28 points with two caregivers. The children were observed playing with toys, watching a movie and having a snack. Two caregiver's records and five children's records were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice. If you have any questions, please contact your licensing inspector at (276) 608-3758. Thank you for your cooperation.
Based on observation, the provider failed to ensure the total number of children receiving care did not exceed the maximum license capacity of the home. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed the children in care at the family day home and counted the number of children in care. There were thirteen children in care.
Plan of Correction:
There was an emergency school closing today due to inclement weather. Three of the children in care were school age children. In the future if the capacity of the family day home exceeds twelve children due to an emergency closing, the school age children will not be able to attend.
