Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance was provided regarding completing an abuse and neglect training. A training can be found on the DSS website, take the one for educators.
Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:30am-11:00am. There were 4 children (12 points) supervised by 2 direct caregivers. The home, 3 staff records, 4 children?s records, 4 household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed engaging freely. There was an abundance of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Evidence:
Staff #1 does not have documentation of start date, emergency contacts, orientation or abuse and neglect training.
Plan of Correction:
I will have her fill out the paperwork and put it in her file.

Description:
Based on observation, potentially poisonous substances are accessible to children.
Evidence:
Liquid dish soap, (keep out of reach of children), was left out on bathroom counter, making it accessible to children.
Plan of Correction:
I will lock it up and make sure it is kept locked.
Standard #:
22VAC40-111-690-D
Description:
Based on observation, the diapering surface is being used for more than changing diapers.
Evidence:
The diapering surface has papers, folders, cell phone, water bottle and small cosmetic bag on top of it.
Plan of Correction:
I will clean it off and make sure we only use it for diaper changing.
