Comments:
A renewal inspection was conducted on 05/16/2022, from 12:21pm to 1:55pm. There were 35 children present and 9 staff. The Inspectors reviewed five children?s records and six staff records. The Inspectors observed the interaction of staff and children throughout the inspection. Children were observed during free play, feeding, and naptime. First aid kits, medications, and emergency preparedness documents were observed. Transportation vans were viewed for compliance. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented. The violation is listed on the violation notice issued to the center and was reviewed with the program director and assistant director at the exit interview.
Based on observation and interview, it was the determined that the center did not ensure that areas and equipment outside of the center be maintained in a safe condition.
Evidence:
1) There is visible peeling paint along the exterior wall of the outdoor playground. Pieces of the paint were observed on the ground of the children?s play area. 2) The center?s director, Staff #1, confirmed the peeling paint to the playground wall.
Plan of Correction:
The center responded with the following: The center will contact the building landlord about getting the exterior wall painted.
