Comments:
An unannounced Monitoring Inspection was conducted on January 23, 2020 from approximately 8:25 am until 10:05 am related to the area of Programs and Staff Training /Supervision. An inspection was conducted at the facility, interviews with staff/ parties involved observations and a review of center documentation was also reviewed. The areas of noncompliance were noted on the violation notice. The results of this inspection were reviewed with the Center Director during the exit interview. Based on observation, review of documentation and staff interviews, the licensee did not ensure that for children from three years to the age of eligibility to attend public school, five years by September 30 there is one staff member for every 10 children.
Evidence: Between the time of 8:09 am and 8:36 am the ratio for the Preschool room, ages 3 and 4 did not meet the required ratio as there were two staff (staff #1 and staff #2) observed with 24 children. A third staff (staff #3) entered the room at approximately 8:36 am. Reviewed and confirmed observation and center documentation with center director and classroom staff.
Plan of Correction:
The center director will make sure to be in ratio by having available staff and shift staff or children when needed.
