A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted today from 3:40pm-6:00pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. A total of 43 children were present with 5 caregivers. Children were observed participating in group gross motor exercise by running sprints and playing kickball, coloring, reading books, completing homework, and listening to story time. The physical plant, programming, menus, 5 staff records, 9 children's records, 6 medications, allergy care plans, emergency practice drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. All staff on site are current in CPR and First Aid training and adequate staff on site are current in Medication Administration Training and Daily Health Observation.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
