Comments:
An unannounced Renewal study was conducted from 10:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. There were 44 children in care being supervised by 4 staff members. Children were observed participating in table top activities, cooperative games, eating lunch, and outdoor play. Lunch served today is beef pepperoni calzone, yogurt, carrots, pineapple, and milk. Five staff records were reviewed. Twenty medications were reviewed and in compliance. There are three staff members on site who are MAT (medication administration training) certified. The most recent emergency escape drill was conducted 12/11/2019 and the most recent shelter in place drill was conducted 01/27/2020. Based on review of five staff records it was determined that not all records contained documentation of an out of state central registry check when staff indicate that they have lived outside of Virginia within the last five years of their hire date. Evidence: Staff A (start date: 11/18/2019) did not have documentation of requesting an out of state central registry check.
Plan of Correction:
Administration will request an out of state central registry check for Staff A.
