An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 3:00 pm - 3:30 pm in response to a self-reported incident to the department involving behavioral guidance. Interviews were conducted and documentation was reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on interviews it was determined that behavioral guidance was not always constructive in nature or age and stage appropriate. Evidence: It was reported through interviews that on 12/01/2023 during rest time staff A was observed using gruff voice tones with child A exclaiming for them to "Go to sleep!" and "Stop that!" Staff A is then observed roughly patting child A on the left arm three times and again gruffly exclaims "Go to sleep!" When child A began to hang their leg off of the cot Staff A tapped child A's leg with their toe and gruffly exclaimed for them to "Get back on your cot!"
