Technical Assistance:
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia
Comments:
A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 9/18/20. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 7 children present and 2 staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. No new children enrolled since the last inspection/all children's records remain current. The Inspector reviewed 1 staff record submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Based on review of staff records, one background check was not obtained for one staff. Evidence: Staff #2 was hired in January 2020. A Central Registry search result was not received within 30 days of hire date.
Plan of Correction:
This staff is on a leave of absence. If the staff returns, a new background search request will be obtained and the results will be forwarded to the licensing inspector for review.
