Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 07/21/20 and concluded on 07/24/20. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 68 children present and 21 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed four children?s records and four staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on a review of four staff files and an interview with the owner, the facility failed to obtain fingerprint background checks on all staff. Evidence: 1. There are no fingerprint background checks on file for staff #2 and 3 who were hired on 5/13/20.
Plan of Correction:
Staff #2 and 3 will obtain fingerprint background checks. Staff #2 had an appointment on 7/28/20. Staff #3 has an appointment for 8/3/20.
