Comments:
A renewal inspection was initiated on 12/14/2022 and concluded on 12/14/2022. There were 33 children present, ranging in ages from 5 months to 5 years, with 10 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records, 1 medication and 6 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined noncompliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Based on review of medication, the center failed to ensure that medication authorization shall be available to staff during the entire time it is effective.
Evidence: 1. Child 1M had a prescription medication, Auvi Q and Benadryl, at the center. There was no medication authorization form available to staff. The medication had not been administered. 2. Administration verified that the medication authorization could not be located.
Plan of Correction:
The correct medication authorization form will be completed by the child's parent and physician prior to accepting any emergency medications.
