Technical Assistance:
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Background checks have to be completed for all staff, prior to license issuance,
Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A renewal inspection was initiated and concluded on February 25th, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 68 children and 8 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 5 children's records and 5 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notices issued to the facility. Based on a review of staff training documentation, it was determined that five staff have not completed all required components for orientation training.
Evidence: Staff #1, #3 ,#4 and #5's records do not have documentation of completion of "Recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect" training.

All staff will document completion of "Recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect training.

Description:
Based on review of staff records, the center failed to obtain a central registry finding within 30 days of employment.
Evidence: Staff #4 and 5's records do not contain current central registry finding. Staff #4's first day was 9/3/19, staff #5's firt day was 9/4/2012
Plan of Correction:
I will submit the request for central registry finding by March 1, 2021.
