Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 01/21/2021 and concluded on 01/27/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 11 children present and 3 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed 3 staff records and 2 children's records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The licensing inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care Programs.
Based on record review and interview, the center failed to ensure at least every two years from the date of the first initial screening staff members shall obtain and submit the results of a follow-up tuberculosis screening.
Evidence: 1. The most recent TB screening on file for staff 1 was conducted on 10/17/2018. 2. Administrative staff confirmed that an updated TB screening had not been obtained for staff 1.
Plan of Correction:
An updated TB screening will be obtained within 30 days.
