Technical Assistance:
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) assumed oversight of child care licensing and monitoring on July 1, 2021. All associated regulations and codes have transferred over from the Virginia Department of Social Services.

Guidance, resources, model forms and training links can be found on the DOE website childcareva.com.

Consulted on moving the swing set further away from the fence to allow for 6 feet clearance.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.

A renewal inspection was conducted in person today at the Family Day Home. There were 2 children present, for 7 points, which is within points for one caregiver for supervision. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and one staff record were reviewed. Babies were observed sleeping at the time of the inspection for a morning nap. Lunch to be served today was chicken, rice with spinach and cheese, mix vegetables and milk. Bottles for the young infant were labeled and dated. No medication was reported to be on-site today. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Feel free to contact me if you need any assistance.
