Provider has installed a large play set in the backyard. After inspecting the equipment, additional manufacturer's guidelines will need to be obtained in order to determine recommended age ranges for the use of this equipment. According to State Regulations, the highest climbing rung or platform on outdoor climbing equipment or top of a slide shall not exceed six feet for school age children and four feet for preschool children.
As discussed, since the stone steps do not have guardrails located at the entry to the back yard on the left side of the house, these steps shall not be used or accessible for children in care to enter and exit the home. Children are to enter and exit the home using the gate to the right of the house.

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted this date. A total of 7 children (15pts) with Provider and Assistant present. The new home was found with ample amounts of toys, books, art supplies and play equipment both inside and outside of the home. The children had completed the morning art project of coloring and gluing orange letters in the shape of a sun. Each child has a folder with weekly art projects and lessons they complete. Observation of the children transitioning to morning snack was made. Hand washing procedures were observed prior to the children sitting down for snack. The children transitioned to either table top activities to draw or activities on the area carpet such as blocks, dress up and stacking shapes. No medications or food allergies at this time. A total of 4 children's records and all staff and household records were reviewed today. Thank you for your cooperation today. This inspection began at approximately 10:45am and ended at 12:40pm. Please email me at: lisa.hudson@dss.virginia.gov with any questions.
