The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 04/23/2021 and concluded on 04/27/2021. The Provider was contacted by email to initiate the inspection. There were five children with one caregivers for twelve points which is within ratio for supervision. Reviewed a child's record, medication authorization, physical space (using FaceTIme), trainings and emergency preparation. One medication was reported to be on-site the day of the inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. Based on provider statement, no written authorization form is available for an emergency medication,. Evidence: Child #2 has an emergency medication on-site and no written authorization from the parent or physician has been completed to keep the medication at the home longer than 10 days.

Based on virtual inspection and provider statement, no gate is present to prevent children under the age of 2 years access to the stairs. Evidence: No hardware installed gate is present to prevent a child two years of age and under access to the stairs. Child #1 is 11 months of age.
