Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.
A monitoring inspection was conducted on January 19, 2022. There were 14 children present and in the care of 4 staff. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staff qualifications, staffing and supervision, physical plant, programming, special services, special care provisions and emergencies. A total of 2 children's records and 3 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and the violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on review of staff records and verification from the director, the center failed to have one staff member in each classroom with current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Evidence: 1. Staff #1 and Staff #2 did not have current certification in CPR. Date of hire for Staff #1 was 08/26/2021 and for Staff #2 was 02/26/2020. 2. The director reported that there is a 30 minute time period every day during rest time when Staff #1 and Staff #2 are together in a classroom with no staff member with current certification in CPR.
Plan of Correction:
The director has scheduled a CPR and first aid course for the earliest date possible for all staff members who need it.
