Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. There were 12 children in care, being supervised by the provider and two assistants. The children were observed participating in crafts, eating lunch, playing outdoors, and napping. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of four child records and three staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. If you have questions regarding this inspection you may contact Sharon Allen at 540-272-2941 or Sharon.allen@doe.virginia.gov.
Based on observation of the family day home it was determined that not all potentially poisonous substances were inaccessible to children. Evidence: There were three bottles of cleaning agents under the unlocked bathroom sink, accessible to children.
Plan of Correction:
The cleaning agents were locked during the inspection.
