Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 5/28/2020 and concluded on 5/28/2020. The in-charge person was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 0 children present and 0 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. Based on review of two staff files, the facility failed to have all required documentation in each staff file. Evidence: Staff 2 (date of hire 9/27/2018) did not have documentation of two or more references as to character and reputation as well as competency that were checked prior to employment.
Plan of Correction:
If the reference documentation can not be located, two additional references will be obtained.

Description:
Based on review of two staff files, the facility failed to have documentation of an original fingerprint check for each staff member prior to employment. Evidence: Staff 2 (date of hire 9/27/2018) did not have documentation of a fingerprint check on file.
Plan of Correction:
If the fingerprint check can not be located, the staff person will submit to fingerprinting again.
