Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 9/22/2020 and concluded on 9/22/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 0 children present and 0 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with an applicable standard or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. Based on review of two staff files, the facility failed to have documentation of repeat background checks every 5 years as required. Evidence: Staff 2 (date of hire 8/25/2015) did not have documentation of a repeat search of the central registry (CPS check). The last CPS check on file was completed 9/15/2015.
Plan of Correction:
Center staff will submit the paperwork for a repeat search of the central registry.
