Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance today included weather band radio, outdoor areas, Emergency Procedures and record keeping.
Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted this afternoon from 1:30 - 3:30 pm. There were 6 children present for 14 points with the provider and assistant. I observed the end of naptime, play, singing and conversations. Record keeping was well-organized and complete. If you have any questions, please contact me at brenda.kuhlman@dss.virginia.gov.
Based on observation today, there were some areas of the home not maintained in a safe condition. Evidence: There was peeling paint at child height in the pink classroom, and there were loose screws from where an outside screen door was blown off during a recent storm.
Plan of Correction:
The paint will be covered. The screws that were loose were removed today.
Standard #:

Description:
Based on observation today, there were some hazardous items stored in unlocked cabinets in the children's bathroom. Evidence: Bottles of cleaners were found in the medicine cabinets.

Description:
Based on observation today, not all children had assigned sleeping arrangements. Evidence: One child was observed sleeping in a baby swing, and another was sleeping in a toddler seat, even though there were enough cots available..
Plan of Correction:
We will label the cots and make sure each child has a designated cot.
