Technical Assistance:
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) assumed oversight of child care licensing and monitoring on July 1, 2021. All associated regulations and codes have transferred over from the Virginia Department of Social Services. Guidance, resources and training links can be found on the new website: childcareva.com.
Comments:
A Monitoring inspection was initiated today. This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program. The director/provider was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were a total of 2 children present with 1 staff. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and1 staff record and 2 household were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Feel free to contact me if you need any assistance at: lisa.hudson@doe.virginia.gov.
Based on child record review, physical exams were not obtained within 30 days of start date for two children. Evidence: The provider has not obtained physical exams for Child #1 and #2 who began care on 7/8/20.
Plan of Correction:
I will request the physical exams from the parents and maintain them in the records.
