Technical Assistance:
Discussed with the provider the number of each type of drill required each year. Further discussed that outside of the COVID-19 leniency, immunizations for children are due on the child's first day.
Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 8/28/20 and concluded on 8/31/20. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were seven children present with the provider. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Based on review of two children's records, the provider did not obtain documentation of a physical examination within 30 days after the first day of attendance. Evidence: The record for Child A, with a start date of 11/10/2015 does not contain documentation of a physical.

I will ask the parents for this again today.
