Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was initiated and concluded on 2/15/24 from 10:55am until 12:10pm. At the time of the inspection, there were 19 children in care with 6 staff present. A sample of 5 children's records and 5 staff records were reviewed. Children were observed engaging in free play, playing on the playground, eating lunch and preparing for nap time. Lunch service and restroom and handwashing procedures were also observed. First aid and emergency supplies, documentation of emergency practice drills, the emergency preparedness plan, children's injury reports and required center postings were reviewed. The center director stated that there are currently no children in care who require medication administration. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law. One violation is listed on the violation notice issued to the center and was discussed with the center director during the exit interview.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-160-C
Description: Based on record review and interview, the center did not ensure that staff members shall obtain and submit the results of a follow-up tuberculosis screening at least every two years from the date of the initial screening or testing.

Evidence:
1. Staff 1's most recent tuberculosis screening is dated 11/19/21. Staff 1 was due for an updated TB screening in November 2023.
2. Staff 1 confirmed that her TB screening is overdue.

Plan of Correction: The center responded with the following: Staff 1 will obtain an updated TB screening by 2/19/24. Management will regularly review staff records to ensure that all TB screening are completed within the required timeframes.
