An unannounced Monitoring inspection was conducted today. A total of 7 children with 2 staff (19pts) were present during the inspection. At the beginning of the inspection, the children were seated and having lunch. Staff were observed assisting with spoon feeding lunches that were brought from home. Handwashing was observed as the children transitioned to the main programming space. Positive interaction was observed between staff and children. Some of the children were engaging with the Provider with the alphabet carpet. The children selected objects that the provider called out as they were able select the correct letter and object. They recited the alphabet and took turns pointing to random letters that were called. Observation of all six cribs was made. One child was determined to nap on a mat. No medication needs were identified at this time. The home was found clean and maintained. A total of 4 children's records, all staff and all household files were reviewed and determined complete. This inspection occurred between 10:15 am and 11:45am. Thank you for your cooperation today. Please email me at: lisa.hudson@doe.virginia.gov with any questions.
