Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, May 16, 2023. The inspector was on site from approximately 2:15 pm until 4:00 pm. There were 11 children present with two caregivers supervising for a value of 27 points. Children were observed having snack, playing with dolls, cars and reading stories. Three children were still napping upon the inspector?s arrival. One child read the Inspector the book Big Bad Bunny. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 11 child records and two caregiver records were reviewed. The inspectors interacted with the caregivers and children in care. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector.

Based on review of manufacturer?s instructions and observation, the provider did not ensure equipment used by children was used in accordance with the manufacturer?s instructions.
Evidence:
1. The instruction manual for the cribs used by children in states ?Discontinue use of the product when child is able to climb out or reaches the height of 35 inches?. 2. Child #1, three years in age and greater than 35 inches in height was observed napping in a crib. 3. The provider stated three additional children, all with a height greater than 35 inches have been sleeping in the cribs.
Plan of Correction:
Per the provider: The parents preferred that the children nap in the cribs but I will explain to them the manufacture's instruction on the cribs. I will have the children over 35 inches in height sleep on cots.
