Comments:
An unannounced renewal study was conducted from 8:30 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. There were 2 children in care in addition to 2 residential children in care with the provider and one assistant ages 15 months, 2 years, 2 years, and 4 years for a total of 10 points. The children were observed participating in free play and outdoor play. Two children's records were reviewed and in compliance. The provider, one household member, and one assistant records were reviewed. There are reportedly no medications being administered to children in the family day home at this time. If you have questions regarding this inspection you may contact Sharon Allen at 540-272-2941 or sharon.l.allen@dss.virginia.gov.
Based on review of one assistant record it was determined that not all assistant records contained documentation of a central registry check with the first 30 days of employment. Evidence: Staff A with a start date of 05/20/2019 did not have documentation of a central registry check on file.
Plan of Correction:
The provider will request that staff A complete a central registry check. Staff A will not provide care until satisfactory results of the central registry check have been obtained and submitted to the provider.
