Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with the director and staff from 9:30 am to 10:55 am. Ninteen children were present with 4 staff supervising. The ages of the children ranged from 19 months to 5 years. The Licensing Inspector was able to observe circle time in the Jr-K and two year old classrooms. Two medications and allergy care plans were inspected as well as 5 staff and 6 children's files. Five injury/accident reports were reviewed. The playground was not inspected today due to the inclement weather. The area of non compliance is outlined on the violation notice.
Any child for whom emergency medications have been prescribed shall always be in the care of a staff who has Medication Administration Training (MAT). Child # 1 and # 2 had emergency medications on site and there was no staff on site who had MAT at 9:30 am. Both children were onsite at 9:30 am. The one staff with MAT arrived at approximately 9:35 am.
Plan of Correction:
Lead teacher ( Opener) will get MAT trained to have someone on site during hours of operation.
