Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 1/14/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 29 children present and 8 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and one violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on a review of children's medication authorizations, it was determined that the parent has not fully authorized the administration of one emergency prescription medication. Evidence: The authorization for one child's emergency prescription medication was completed on the medication authorization form that is used by the local public school system. The wording on this form indicates that only employees of the public school system are permitted to administer the medication.
Plan of Correction:
I gave the parent the correct form and have already contacted her to make sure the correct form is completed and returned tomorrow.
