Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 12/11/20 and concluded on 12/22/20. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 17 children present and two staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on a review of documents, the facility failed to ensure that a health inspection is conducted annually. Evidence: The last health inspection report on file is dated 1-22-19.
Plan of Correction:
The chief operating officer will call the health department to arrange a health inspection.

Description:
Based on a review of two staff files and an interview with the chief operating officer, the facility failed to ensure that all employees complete all required background checks. Evidence: 1. There is no fingerprint background check on file for staff #2. (hire date 9-8-20)
Plan of Correction:
The chief operating officer will ensure that staff #2 will complete the background check as soon as an appointment can be arranged and she will ensure that all employees complete all required background checks.
