Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. A total of 6 children (14pts) with 2 staff present. The children were preparing for morning snack with staff when the Licensing Inspector arrived. Walk thru of the program area, crib room, utility room and outdoor area was completed. No medication needs onsite. Some topical ointments onsite. A total of 4 children's records, all staff and 2 household member records were reviewed. Thank you for your cooperation today. Please email me at: lisa.hudson@doe.virginia.gov with any questions.
Based on a temperature reading of a hot water tap available to children the water temperature exceeded the maximum 120 degrees. Evidence: A temperature reading was taken from the bathroom sink located next to the crib room. The temperature reading was measured at 130 degrees.
Plan of Correction:
We will adjust the temperature so it does not exceed 120 degrees.

Description:
Based on observation of the diapering area, the foot operated receptacle used to dispose of soiled diapers is not hands free. Evidence: The step on pale used to dispose soiled diapers does not close automatically. Staff are required to close the lid using their hands.
Plan of Correction:
We will purchase a new step on pale.
