Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternative remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 07/10/2020 and concluded on 07/13/2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 21 children and 6 staff members present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed 3 children's records and 3 staff records during the inspection to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on record review and discussion with staff, the facility failed to ensure that staff records shall contain all of the elements as required by the standards.
Evidence: The record for Staff #1 did not contain the following information: documentation that two or more references as to character and reputation as well as competency were checked before employment and the health information as required by the standards.
Plan of Correction:
The program director will verify references and will request a copy of the TB test.
