Technical Assistance:
Discussed the annual review of emergency information and procedures, health screenings and hours of annual training. The provider expressed their interest in applying to increase the capacity in the program.
Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 01/04/2021 and concluded on 01/06/2021. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 4 children present and 1 staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 4 children?s records and 1 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on documentation review, the provider did not review the emergency plan at least annually and update the plan as needed. Evidence: 1) The last documented date that the Emergency Preparedness Plan was reviewed was 12/20/2019.

The provider shall review the Emergency Preparedness Plan and document any updates/changes.

Description:
Based on documentation review, the provider did not ensure to practice shelter-in-place procedures a minimum of twice per year. Evidence: 1) There was only one shelter-in-place drill documented in the emergency response drills log for the past 12 months. It was dated 06/16/2020.
Plan of Correction:
The provider shall conduct a minimum of two shelter-in-place drills annually.
