Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 12:15pm-1:15pm. There were 9 children (18 points) directly supervised by 2 staff. The home, 2 staff records, 24 children?s records, 1 household member?s record, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed preparing to eat lunch outside per their request. The children lined up in groups and went back into the home to wash their hands before their lunch time. Lunch served to the children was rice, beef patty and milk. The children were observed socializing while eating both with their peers and their teachers. Children went back into the home to wash hands and prepare for naptime and afternoon activities. There was a supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. An area of non-compliance is identified in the Violation Notice.

Based on observation, the provider did not follow the most recent, age-appropriate nutritional requirements of a recognized authority such as the Child and Adult Care Food Program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Evidence: Lunch served to the children was white rice, a beef patty and milk. The USDA program requires at least 4 of the food groups served to children. Lunch today covered 3 of the required 4 food groups.
Plan of Correction:
I usually serve mixed vegetables. I will serve the vegetables or fruit going forward.
