Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on October 8, 2020 and concluded on October 9, 2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were zero children present and two staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Based on a review of staff records, the center failed to obtain a required out of state central registry background check for an employee who lived outside of Virginia within the last five years.
Evidence: 1. Staff #1 began employment on 01/07/2020. This staff person resided in one state other than Virginia within the past 5 years. The required out of state central registry search request for this staff person was requested on the day of the inspection. 2. Staff verified that the record check had not been submitted within the required time frame.
